Area developer Larry Lock predicts the area will have 15 clubs open for business by the end of the year.
For Larry Lock, fitness has always been an important part of his life. But it wasn’t until recently that he found a way to make that passion a part of his career.
After retiring from his role in law enforcement, Lock decided to work overseas. He spent eight years in Baghdad, Iraq doing contractor for work for the government before deciding it was time to move on to the next opportunity. But after working for others his entire career, Lock knew that he wanted to go into business for himself. That’s when he discovered WORKOUT ANYTIME’s franchise opportunity.
“A few of my friends were involved with WORKOUT ANYTIME, so they told me to check it out. The brand stood out to me right away because of its simple business model, and I was confident that the leadership team was steering WORKOUT ANYTIME in the right direction. From that point on, I knew that I wanted to develop the brand across North Florida,” said Lock. “This market is a perfect match for WORKOUT ANYTIME. Not only does its value-priced membership make it an affordable fitness solution for members, it also offers a strong sense of community. WORKOUT ANYTIME isn’t just a gym, it’s a family.”
Lock—along with his business partner Chris Gately—currently have one franchise of their own that’s open for business, with another one expected to open its doors this year. In addition to those clubs, Lock and Gately have helped unit franchisees open up five other WORKOUT ANYTIME gyms in North Florida. And that number is expected to climb by the end of 2017—Lock predicts that the area will have around 15 open units before the year is over.
Those units will add to WORKOUT ANYTIME’s ever-growing franchise system, which currently boasts more than 120 locations across the country. And with its eyes on development in key target markets like North Florida and Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 2017, the brand is well on its way to crossing the milestone 200-unit mark.
“Our growth over the past year has been exponential. From opening our 100th unit to continuing to pursue development in key target markets, 2017 is going to be another record-breaking year for the WORKOUT ANYTIME brand,” said Randy Trotter, WORKOUT ANYTIME’s vice president of development. “Area developers like Larry are continuing to introduce our simple business model to passionate and dedicated unit franchisees, which will ultimately fuel our expansion efforts in the months and years to come. Areas like North Florida are still wide open for development, and we’re looking forward to welcoming even more local owners into our system.”
In addition to providing franchisees with the opportunity to be a part of a rapidly growing franchise system in the booming fitness segment of the industry, WORKOUT ANYTIME’s simple business model and supportive corporate team ensure that its owners are set up for success right off the bat. And with prospective owners being able to open up a club for as little as $150,000 down—along with the brand providing third party financing and real estate assistance—joining WORKOUT ANYTIME’s system is also affordable.
“If you’re looking to break into the fitness industry, WORKOUT ANYTIME is the way to go. It’s so much more than a traditional business—I’ve really come to appreciate the relationships that go along with it. Everyone involved with the brand, from its corporate team members to area developers and franchisees, are all in it together,” said Lock. “If you do your homework and have a passion for the brand, there’s no doubt that you’ll be able to succeed in WORKOUT ANYTIME’s system.”
